There’s no easy way to put this…I love Asian food! (I am Asian, so this is not ironic.) It’s just a funny thing, because when I was younger, all I wanted was burgers and pizza, now I can’t go a day without cooking or eating the Mother Land’s food!
This being said, my favorite place to savour my cravings would have to be Sea Dragon of Austin, Texas. It is a mixture of mostly Chinese and Vietnamese dishes, and maybe some other Asian inspired variants in between. There are over 200 items you can choose from, and I have not been disappointed yet. The next few photos are the “regular” dishes ordered every time I’ve dined there.
Here is the magnificent ‘Imperial Roll’: Deep fried and stuffed with shrimp and other goodies to make for an upgraded egg roll. It comes with a side of veggies that you can roll up in a lettuce wrap, and dip into plum sauce. This is an appetizer, but sometimes I order it with a side of rice as an entree.
This is the ‘Crispy Egg Noodle with chicken’ platter: Crispy egg noodles atop a garlicky brown sauce that brings all of the veggies and protein together for a little bite of heavenly crunch. Add some Sriracha, and you are golden!
We usually getaway with a bill less than $30, consisting of 2-3 appetizers, 2 entrees, and waters. Take my word for it, but also expand your horizons and try other dishes like the Spicy Tangy Lamb (that’s right, stir fried lamb!) with leeks, Crispy Fried Seasonal Fish, or stop in for the bountiful lunch buffet they serve everyday (except for weekends)! Check out my other posts on taste-worthy restaurants around town, and I’m sure you won’t disagree!
