I flippin’ LOVE mommy and kiddo time. I’m one of those moms who are stuck to their children like glue, and I love every single second of it. Nope…Haven’t left the babe alone with anyone for a night to go out or anything like that. It just wasn’t for me. Insteeeeaddd…I swoon over times where adult mommies and our tiny kiddos can bond TOGETHER. Yes, we can still have adult conversation while our children can play and also bond with each other.
Where did I “throw” my first ever mommy-date? The Thinkery! In the great neighborhood of Mueller. Let me tell you…It is a superb place for adults and children alike. I love how the whole place is dedicated to our children’s learning and best of all…opportunities for endless fun! There are so many activities my little guy still has not even touched because his favorite “activity” out of the whole darn place is…wait for it…THE ELEVATOR. Yep. That’s my boy! His father and I have always said that he’s going to be a builder or architect of some sort…His curiosities and choice of activities totally make sense.
Anyway, I have a tendency to ramble on as the pregnancy brain never left after birthing my first child. So, the Thinkery charges $10 for children above the age of 2 and adults. I believe they are closed on Mondays and on Wednesdays, you can make any amount of a donation (big or small) for admission into the museum (a good day for those who want to save $$). The place is usually always packed on the weekends, however our first visit there on a Sunday showed to be quite empty and we were in luck.
For my sweet friends who came out last minute with their little ones, THANK YOU! I wanted to make this first planned mommy and kiddo playdate a HIT. I wanted it to be fun and enjoyable for everyone involved! I packed little turkey-cheese-avocado sliders and baked chips for the mommies and the cuuutest ever bento box lunches for the babies. Most of the babies were under the age of 1 so they got cut up fresh fruit and gluten/nut/soy free animal crackers to snack on. I was so happy to see all of the kids eating some if not most of their lunches!
I’ll be having a last minute mommy and kiddo playdate for the month of July as well — Update on that for you next time! =) What about you ladies? Are there any fun (and even FREE) baby and kid friendly places you like to have your mommy and kiddo playdates?
Enjoy the photos from my first mommy and kiddo playdate! Looking forward to hosting many more <3
