Hello world! Welcome back to my blog — I’m so happy that you decided to stop and read! Really, I am!
How have your days been? Mind have been pretty awesome…I hope you’ve been able to enjoy beautiful days even in the midst of any tough days you may be having. Come and read some of my other blog posts if you just need a little pick me up!
So, today I’m sharing a fun and eventful day at a recent CHILDREN FOCUSED festival right in our neighborhood – Mueller! It was named/themed “Honeychild”. We went around 10am and it looked like it had just gotten started so we kind of just walked through it and continued on with our day with a walk through the neighborhood.
It was a gloomy looking day and very cool and breezy to start, and then the sun came out to bring some warmth into our lives. It was such a nice walk and time spent with my little family! But yes, about Honeychild Festival…The event advertised that it would be great for small children even as young as 2 years old. When we passed through, there were vendors that sold children/baby clothes (super cute and original printed clothing), an ice cream push cart (all organic of course), and even a sweet handcrafted jewelry tent (I wanted to get things from there but maybe next time!). My little Heru is 1 and 1/2 and the only thing that it seemed he would possibly be interested in was the little tent that had kids aged 3-5 painting and working on other crafts – Psh. He wouldn’t stay still to save his life, let alone sit down and attempt to create art without splashing paint and water on other kids — Yea, we passed on that! Hopefully in the next few years, he will be able to be more interactive at awesome kids festivals like this! I was so excited for it because there aren’t many KIDS ONLY festivals in Austin…Kid-friendly yes, but just for the kiddos, not really! It was still early morning so we pushed on our trek and little man fell asleep. We walked back home and ordered some pizza via the Uber Eats app — Spartan Pizza is not that bad! My favorite part of it was the dough! Ugh it was so perfect — Fluffy, not greasy, and just the right amount of flavor to compliment its toppings. I know it was particularly yummy because the hubby hardly ever eats the crusts of pizza, but he ate all of the crusts of this pie! Oh, I also ordered a little greek side salad to go with because who doesn’t pair a good salad with an even better pizza?!
*Sigh* It’s a late night again, usually when I get all of my work/writing done. I like to write/create uninterrupted and that usually means once little man goes to bed for the rest of the night! He’s growing up so fast right before my eyes. I’m so in awe of the little details that change within him every single day. I always also thought that as he got older, that I would be less tired. What was I thinking, you’re probably asking lol. I don’t know?! New-mom-syndrome! I’ve also discovered that, that darn forgetful pregnant brain exists long after pregnancy, birth and being a mom. I love reading about how moms brag about, “Oh, it’s so easy for me to get up any hour of the early mornings (between 4am-6am) because my kids are my meaning for life. They are my everything, how could I NOT get up happy every single day?” Where are my moms at that struggle like myself to squeeze in every millisecond of sleep a girl can get no matter if it’s 5am or 9am when your kids wake up…*Points to myself* ME!! I do this and I want to hear about what some of you moms do to not just wake up HAPPY, but wake up period without complaining about being tired. Seriously. I’m interested in hearing your story!
Anyway…Thanks again for stopping in! Come back soon for more of my foodie/life/#momlife adventures!
